What is the relationship between imaginative writing and the built environment? From William Blake through to Iain Sinclair to Laura Oldfield Ford, literature has constantly sought to engage with, and transform, the urban spaces in which we live. Contemporary writers discuss the ways in which we explore these environments and how we write, imagine, and dream them: Paul Scraton (Built on Sand), Gareth E Rees (Car Park Life, Marshland), Ashley Hickson-Lovence (The 392) and Alice Stevenson (Ways to Walk in London and Ways to See Great Britain).
