EVENT UPDATE: This special gala night shines a thoughtful and laconic light on the state of the nation. On the day Theresa May starts packing her boxes to move out of no.10, Guardian columnist and I Maybot author returns to Stoke Newington to give an unrivalled, hottest of hot takes on the Tin Lady’s legacy and what fresh horrors we have in store. In the first hour of this two-part event, poet Roger Robinson and author and performer Johny Pitts discuss everything from Windrush and Grenfell to gentrification as they also reflect on how governments and politicians have consistently failed to deliver on promises and manifestos. Guest appearance by 4 Brown Girls Who Write.
