Stoke Newington Literary Festival

Doon’s comedy credits include Two Doors Down, Plebs, Toast of London, On the Hour, The Day Today, Brass Eye, Alan Partridge and the Emmy-winning Smack the Pony. Her new book, My Lady Parts, looks at how our culture still expects women to adhere to certain stereotypes – feisty feminist, hot lesbian, deranged cougar, old hag and the countless others we’re all familiar with. She talks about how the media, stage and screen all exacerbate these stereotypes – and punish those who don’t adhere to them.
