Our festival beer has become a hiccupy institution, thanks to the very lovely people at Redemption Brewing in Tottenham. It’s available at our bars at the Budvar Tent and the Town Hall and it’s the perfect accompaniment to some of the great music and events we’ll be serving up alongside it.
Two free pints and a bag of festival books go to the person who comes up with the best and most appropriate name for the beer.
The theme this year is PUNK LONDON to celebrate not only 40 years since punk exploded into the music scene but our involvement in a great range of events going on throughout London coordinated by the GLA – check out their website at http://punk.london/ for more information.
Previous years’ winning entries, for inspiration, include Alexei’s Ale when Alexei Sayle (geddit?) headlined at the Town Hall, Thirst On (the beer dedicated to festival favourite Thurston Moore), Mary Wollstonedraft (good lord we must have drunk a load when we judged the feminist beer), Cask of the Red Death to celebrate our Edgar Allan Poe extravaganza when Steven Berkoff turned up to unveil the bust of Poe above Fox & Pie and last year’s Things Can Only Get Bitter to mark the passing of the general election.
So come on, clever people of the interwebs. Get those puns rolling in and nab yourself some glory.
